I found this blog to be very informative and interesting. The picture I have on my banner is of a Sunflower I was not familiar with (could it be a “Chocolate Cherry Sunflower”) as pictured on this blog
I planted a box of mixed Sunflowers so I have quite a variety, and I am not familiar with them all.

I think sunflowers are pretty cool too. It seems though that the only thing I can grow are weeds. I visited the blog you linked to and found that your picture is of the Chocolate Cherry Sunflower. Here is a link to that post:

That’s a beauty of a sunflower. I’m going to look for mixed ones next year and hope for some of those too

I love the flower in the banner — an unusual sunflower I’d love to paint. I’ve never seen one this gorgeous shade. (I looked a the link Sherry provided, with the sun coming through the petals.)
I like the name of your blog — “stuff” can cover a lot of topics. This should be a fun blog… with little surprises along the way.

I often grow 2-3 varieties of sunflowers along my fence, I like about a 2:1 yellow to red mix. I usually use Moulin Rouge because I like the contrast in the petal color and shape. You can see a picture of that type at http://www.anniesannuals.com/signs/s/sunflower_MR.htm. Unfortunately record rains this spring prevented any seed germination but WEEDS!
