Thanks, I do find sunflowers such cheerful flowers, but we have had a series of wet summers. In fact last year we had the worst flooding in the summer for fifty years, people even died! They say its global warming. Nevertheless the sunflowers make everyone feel cheerful, they just look like summer. My neighbour has got some double sunflowers, they look very pretty but are no good for the bees.
I have posted up a pic pf my neighbours very frilly sunflowers on my blog. I am not sure how to upload it to yours! Do take a look at them they are very striking, but alas not very environmentaly friendly by comparison the standard sigle sunflowers. I have cadged some seeds off him though as i really can’t resist planting a few next year.

Sunflowers are beautiful. We planted a few seeds we had gotten in an open field near our house. They all grew up to be gorgeous and tall. I agree they are cheerful.
